Agape love...

Scriptural means worship according to what God has authorized. We are to offer our worship to God as He desires...not the way we desire. God gave it all...He has the right to demand how we are to worship Him.

Nothing like the celebrations of life! Happy birthday to our sweet friends, Kathy and Jamilla today! Of course we had to have a spread! So glad we have good cooks! Good Bible study, great friends and wonderful blessings this evening.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Steve Arrington family in the loss of their 19 year old granddaughter, Jenna Williamson, who passed away today as the result of an accidental fall out of the back of a pick up truck. We are praying for all the family as they grieve their loss of Jenna. May God, family and friends comfort your hearts at this sad time.

Praying this evening for all family and friends who are struggling with illness and/or loss as they are traveling in the valleys of life at this time.

Just remember...Satan can appear as an angel of light! Think about it...he appeals to our fleshy desires, so he uses his most beautiful packaging. How else could he possibly make sin look so inviting? We only see the real ugliness once we've been snared! Put on the whole armor of God...you're going to need it!

We continue to pray for Kenyon Nelson's improvement as he continues to recover from an illness that has plagued him for weeks. He is still undergoing physical therapy and still will need medical support for the next few weeks. Kenyon is the son of James and Wanda Nelson. James preached in Cedartown for many years at the church of Christ. Hang in there and we love all of you!

We are praying for our sister in Christ, young Mandy Todd, who suffered from a stroke and is recovering at Redmond. She has been blessed by God to be recovering as well as she is doing. She was in good spirits today and determined to get back on her feet. You go Mandy...hold on to God's hand and He will help you through this tough time!

We really enjoyed giving McKenzie Elizabeth Cornwell a welcome party today! She received so many wonderful gifts from so many wonderful family members and friends! Thanks to all the ladies who helped with this sweet event! We hope to see McKenzie soon!

Be an encourager...be supportive...be kind!

This is fairly straightforward and true. Our children's souls should take priority over any earthly endeavor. It's wonderful to encourage our children to excel in an area they love, but we need to teach and train them to love God first. Everything else will fall into place. Proverbs tells us to train up a child in the way they should go and they will never depart from it. How often? The Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:7 to teach them God's ways when they lay down at night, when they rise in the morning, when we sit with them, and while we walk with them by the way. How much are you training your children to love and know God?

The Bible tells us to guard our tongue, to have a pure and honest heart, and to be kind. How are you measuring up?

Praying for Beulah Lewis as she battles several health issues and is still confined to RRMC as of today. She is such a sweetheart...and her family is just a wonderful group of Christians. May God strengthen you all!

The world is where it's at now because they do not recognize this fact.

No matter what culture condones...it's still a sin if God says so.

Pray without ceasing! Remember, the prayers of a righteous man avails much! Praying is our line of communication to God...call on Him often! He loves hearing from you! After all...He's your Father.

Celebrating after Bible study with Derrick Noland as he turns 51 this Thursday! Happy birthday Derrick! Wishing you many more happy years!

These are some of the good folks, who left their home as Hurricane Irma came through their location. We met today while serving them lunch at The Best Western. They were from many different places in Florida and in Georgia. Some of them were going home this afternoon, while others were going to wait a couple of more days to see if their power would be restored. God bless them on their journey home and afterwards. It was our pleasure to meet and serve them.

So much fun tonight hosting a bridal shower for Ginger Green, who is marrying Zac Davidson on July 15th! She is one excited, happy young lady! We are so excited for her too and wish this young couple a very long and happy life together. ❤

2016 is quickly coming to an end! My how time really does "fly"! We all tend to resolve to make changes in our physical lives each New Year. For 2017, why not decide to look at the spiritual side of life and make a resolution to change anything that is lacking in that facet of our lives? After all...the spiritual is more important than the earthly, and it will last for an eternity, because we are never going to die...but our bodies will. What good does it do to lose weight when the body is going to perish (2 Corinthians 4:16)? What will our priority be for 2017? Our congregation wishes all of you a very Happy and prosperous New Year in Christ!

What is faith? "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1) "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Some things soothing to the soul! Enjoy...pray...enjoy...love...and pray!
